THE CHOO CHOO

another quick hello from new york! i'm at the back of the b.a.m. theater right now, eating almond cake and listening to new lieder. (i think this is gonna be a good show!) 

have i mentioned how exhausting this city is?

how do eight million people do it?

how did i do it for six years?

whatever, tomorrow i am going to eat a turkey donut and then on saturday i am going to play drums and on sunday we will go back to the midwest for farmland and latkes and driving everywhere in cars.

oh! i almost forgot. these photos are from when egg and i journeyed from north dakota to chicago before we left for new york. i think i love the train (and its cute breakfasts).

THE BEST POTSTICKERS EVER

oy, my legs are entirely too sore from walking around the city yesterday (apparently my power walks around the super target didn't get me in shape for this?) but i am about to eat cold keste pizza for breakfast before booking it to rehearsal, so it is all good!

you guys! i'm so full on kimchi and minimalism and blue cheese right now. new york has fed us well in our first few days here. we're off to be tourists. here is a recipe for scotch eggs over at food52.

SCENES FROM THE FARM

with harvest over, the farm is quiet and there is time to pet the kitties. there are still odd little jobs to be done, like trimming trees, cleaning the tractors, and climbing up grain bins to tend to the wheat. for outside jobs, eggboy and eggdad must race against the daylight because the days are so wildly short. 

eggboy gets enough sleep, he has time to cook venison for dinner. his post-harvest non-sleepy self is so goofy, my face hurts from laughing so much.
