WEEKEND WARRIORS

in the weekend, we pretended it was spring when we ran around the park and then over to the greenmarket.
we avoided the internet for a full 24 hours and regained our imaginations.
there was kale and bacon pop-tart baking, pottery painting, and plenty of strolls through town.
i acquired lots of jars which marked the beginning of a grain library and a pickle hobby.
eggboy sang eggman and the next morning featured andy griffith and barney fife.
add one embarrassing game of scrabble where i picked all of the x's and eggboy all of the e's, some civil wars, and tea with the queen
and yes, i'd say it was really quite a lovely few days.

RECIPE: ROSEMARY SODA

eggboy did a funny thing today. he spent time in the kitchen and he was not making eggs {!!}, he was making rosemary soda. and it was only half because i think he is a good hand model. the other half is because the rosemary came from his mummy's garden! all the way from northern minnesota/practically canada.

this is the easiest recipe ever. eggboys of all types can make it, even ones with zero kitchen experience. and it is so delicious, it went over wonderfully at the new music bake sale.

1. mix these in a sauce pan and bring to a simmer: 1 tablespoon dried rosemary + 3/4 cup white sugar + 1 cup water
2. let simmer over medium low heat for 30 minutes, stirring frequently
3. strain out the rosemary
4. add a few spoonfuls to fizzy water and stir {taste and add more syrup or water if necessary, depending on your preference}

A SELFIE AND SOME JAM

a selfie for no real reason other than i thought it might be fun to try on my new lipstick and channel my inner francesca {minus the nudy part} and show you how i look these days: it's less about eye makeup, less to do with hair, more to do with bushy eyebrows and watering my own grass and thinking it silly that it would be greener on the other side. to hell with the perm i've wanted since grade school. and i quite like it because i've been early to bed, early to rise, working like the devil, and wildly enjoying the everyday with things like cooking dinner for eggboy and having a jam on toast in a silent morning while everyone else sleeps. no primping or wild parties necessary.

is this what being an oldbody is?

happy march, everybody!

WEEKEND WARRIORS

over the weekend i ate hamantaschen and basically only hamantaschen.
i showered, i brushed my hair, i went to manhattan {things i don't often do on a weekend}.
eggboy and i went to a roller derby in gowanus {things we don't often do on a weekend}.
and we saw dave play xenakis and viñao {things i want to do way more often on a weekend}.

also this weekend i visited eggboy's apartment for the second time ever. {it has a pretty brick wall and a minnesota flag.}
the wind about knocked me horizontal.
and, look, a new feature began!
